A scaffolding sleeve coupler connects two ends of a 48.3mm diameter steel tube together. They are made from pressed steel and have been zinc coated to protect from rust and corrosion. Each sleeve has been quality tested and conforms to EN74-18 and British standards. When building scaffolds using sleeves, you should always ensure the joints are staggered in different bays.

The sleeve coupler slides onto either end of the pole/tube you want to connect, and once in position, you use a spanner or impact drill to tighten the bolts on the connector, which will clamp tight around the tube. This product can connect vertical, horizontal, and diagonal poles together.
Yes, these connectors can take on heavy loads. Each clamp gets rigorously quality tested. They have a safe working load of 5.5kN slip resistance.
You can also connect the poles using a joint pin, which is placed inside the scaffold tubes, unlike the sleeves, which are fixed to the outside.
This is the process in which the metal is moulded into place. Sheets of steel are hard-pressed and then shaped to make the sleeve.
